From Newshub: New study into therapeutic cannabis finds 96pct of participants report benefits in medical conditions.

This is deeply unsurprising, as I pointed out when similar results came out in 2017.  People who keep on using cannabis therapeutically are likely to think it works, because otherwise they wouldn’t.

    But wait theres more…
‘It found cannabis also helped 97 percent of participants with difficulty sleeping and 98 percent with mental health issues’

I very much doubt this is a theraputic study at all, which would look at those prescribed cannabis products and their diagnosis for needing it.

“Dr Noller said the majority of participants were sourcing cannabis through illicit means’
Its just a self justification for something that gets them high but its wrapped in pseudo medical jargon the participants have picked up.
Next study should be on sovereign citizens and whether the justice system applies to them and whether the government treats them fairly

Two of the conditions cited were pain relief and eating issues. IIRC, both of those are well known beneficial effects of cannabis.

What would have been interesting would be to see what strain of cannabis they were using and what their consumption was – therapeutic use is below the level needed for getting high. Also, if it’s high dose THC/low dose CBD strain (typically used to get high) or low dose THC/high dose CBD or something in between.

Yes, I think many of them are probably *correct* in believing that the cannabis is helping, but it wouldn’t be surprising that they thought it was even if it wasn’t.
