David Scott obtained a BA and PhD from the Australian National University and then commenced his university teaching career at La Trobe University in 1972. He has taught at La Trobe University, the University of Sheffield, Bond University and Colorado State University, joining the University of Auckland, based at Tamaki Campus, in mid-1995. He has been Head of Department at La Trobe University, Acting Dean and Associate Dean (Academic) at Bond University, and Associate Director of the Centre for Quality Management and Data Analysis at Bond University with responsibility for Short Courses.     Almost accurate. Tipping the Panthers in the around 1 wasn’t easy. Everyone thought they going to lose. I think you have a good judgmental style of tipping. #fan

      Thanks. However the main point of my predictions is that they are as much as possible simply based on data and an algorithm. I only exercise judgement in choice of parameters and assigning home ground advantage in some cases. I do try also to explain what I have done when making a judgement call based on my experience as a statistician.
      Using only data and an algorithm I can produce forecasts after the event which are exactly as I would have produced before the event, which is what happened in this case.
